The Japanese Film Festival (JFF) in Cairo will kick off tomorrow virtually, and it will last until March 7, where it will screen the largest number of Japanese films available to Egyptian audiences all over the country.
The ten-day festival will showcase 25 films ranging from features, to documentaries, to modern-production animation films released between 2014 and 2020, as well as the old feature film “The Flavor of Green Tea over Rice” produced in 1952, have been curated specially for the festival.
All films were produced between 2007, and 2020, except one feature which dated back to 1952 which is "The Flavor of Green Tea over Rice."
Organized by the Japan Foundation in Cairo, the festival's films will be available for 24 hours on the festival's platform, also Arabic subtitles will be available as well for all films except "Tokyo Marble Chocolate."
The audience in Egypt can watch "Tokyo Marble Chocolate" in English subtitles through the festival's platform.
The festival's first-day schedule includes: "Project Dreams: How to Build Mazinger Z's Hangar" (2020), "Stolen Identity" (2018), and "Gon, the Little Fox" (2019).

Directed by Tsutomu Hanabusa, the film revolves around the dream of building a hangar like the mythical Mazinger Z one.
However, "Stolen Identity" narrates Asami story after facing a strange incident as her social media information has been hacked, then she found herself involved in a serial murder case. The film is directed by Hideo Nakata.

Finally, "Gon, the Little Fox" is directed by Takeshi Yashiro. The animated feature sheds the light on, a little orphan fox which is called Gon. One day, Gon finds a young Hyoju who lost his mother and decides to comfort him and accompany him.
