Japanese Ambassador Opens Developed Primary School by GAGP

This morning, Japan Ambassador to Egypt Masaki Noke attended an official opening of a developed governmental primary school in El Sayeda Zainab district in Cairo.

This project was executed with the help of Japanese Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects to Egypt (GAGP). The developed school is called "Shohdaa' Port Said."

Masaki was accompanied by a number of Egyptian officials. The Japanese government has financially funded the project of development through Tanweer Center for Development and Human Rights that reached 172,228 dollars.

The project included qualifying the school buildings for a safe educational environment, in addition to providing the school teachers with training for improving teachers' skills.

Masaki expressed his pleasure of visiting the school after the development and he insisted on the need for increasing the educational role in the Egypt-Japan relationship. He also asserted the importance of national efforts in improving the quality of educational services.

The GAGP has granted financial support to different non-governmental non-profit organizations of different social fields such as education, environment, medical care, and women empowerment.

More than 171 projects have been supported in the framework of the GAGP since 1994 and the total fund reached 9 million dollars.
