Japan has announced its intention to conduct a comprehensive review regarding the recognition of the State of Palestine, considering "progress in the Middle East peace process," according to the Palestinian News Agency.

Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa stated during a press conference in Tokyo that Japan supports the "two-state solution" in the Middle East. She emphasized Japan’s understanding of the Palestinian aspiration to establish an independent state and expressed support for Palestinian efforts to achieve this goal.

"Regarding the recognition of the State of Palestine, we want to continue to address this issue comprehensively, considering how to advance the peace process," Kamikawa added.

Japan has historically maintained a balanced stance on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, advocating for peaceful resolution through negotiations. The Japanese government has consistently supported the two-state solution, envisioning an independent State of Palestine existing alongside the State of Israel in peace and security. Japan's foreign policy in the Middle East has focused on contributing to stability and development through humanitarian aid and economic assistance.

The two-state solution is a widely endorsed framework aimed at resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. It calls for the establishment of two sovereign states: Israel and Palestine. This solution addresses critical issues such as borders, the status of Jerusalem, security, and the rights of Palestinian refugees. While many countries and international organizations support this framework, achieving it has proven challenging due to ongoing disputes and a lack of mutual agreement on key issues.
