Japan has sent additional humanitarian aid to Gaza, according to a statement released by the Japanese Embassy on Monday.

The aid shipment, which arrived at Al Arish Airport, includes 5,000 blankets, 10,000 water containers, 4,500 plastic sheets, and 8,500 sleeping mats.

These items will be distributed to the people of Gaza through the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA).

Oka Hiroshi, the Japanese Ambassador to Egypt, expressed his appreciation for the cooperation with the Egyptian government and other Egyptian partners in implementing Japan's humanitarian aid for Gaza.

Since October 7, 2023, the Japanese government has provided over $100 million in humanitarian assistance for food, water, health, and medical care through international organizations such as UNRWA and the Egyptian Red Crescent to improve the humanitarian situation in Palestine, particularly in Gaza.

The Japanese government has affirmed its commitment to continuing its humanitarian assistance efforts in response to the needs on the ground while pursuing diplomatic efforts to improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
