Japan pledged on Sunday to provide 15.8 billion yen (approximately $106 million) in aid to support Ukraine's reconstruction from war damage in seven key areas, including infrastructure rebuilding and demining, according to Kyodo News.

The news agency cited unnamed sources as saying that Tokyo and Kyiv are expected to agree on Japan's participation in the postwar reconstruction of the European nation, in addition to signing over 10 memorandums of cooperation during the Japan-Ukraine Conference for Promotion of Economic Reconstruction scheduled to be held in Tokyo on February 19.

The agency also noted that Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and his Ukrainian counterpart Denys Shmyhal will attend the reconstruction conference, along with approximately 300 other government officials and representatives from the private sector.
