Japan has issued a tsunami advisory for islands off the coast of the eastern part of the country, with an expected wave height of one meter (about 3.3 feet).
This warning follows an earthquake estimated to be 6.6 magnitude, which occurred around 11 a.m. near Torishima Island, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency.
The earthquake's epicenter was in the Pacific Ocean, nearly 550 kilometers (about 342 miles) south of Tokyo.
