Japan’s Ministry of Economics has published a list of goods imported from Russia, which replacing them is a problem in the short term.
The ministry said in a statement there are seven supplies, which have no alternatives, including oil, liquefied natural gas, coal, coke (fuel), neon, which are used in semiconductors, Palladium, and ferroalloys for the production of steel and stainless steel.
The statement indicated that Japan depends on Russian imports of liquefied natural gas by 8.8%, oil by 3.6%, coke by 8%, Palladium by 43%, iron and chromium by 50%, and ferrous metals by 33%.
At the same time, the statement mentioned that despite the serious dependence on Russia for some imports, there is the possibility of using alternative materials and changing the importing countries.
It was confirmed that the absolute volume of Russian imports is small and that their impact on the Japanese economy is small, the ministry added.
