Italian President Sergio Mattarella was admitted to a hospital in Rome on Tuesday.
He underwent surgery to implant a pacemaker, according to Italian media.
The reports highlighted that the medical procedure did not cause any concern.
Among the first to comment was Senate President Ignazio La Russa on social media: "Come on President, come back soon. We are waiting for you."
While Prime Minister Meloni said that "Italy awaits him soon, with his strength and dedication."
Many Italian politicians have also wished President Mattarella a speedy recovery.
