Italy's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, has called on Italian citizens in Lebanon to leave the country as soon as possible due to the escalating situation.
In a statement released on Friday, Tajani expressed deep concern over the developments in the Middle East, highlighting the urgency of the situation for Italians residing in the region.
The Italian Foreign Minister emphasized the need for citizens to stay in contact with the Italian embassy in Lebanon in case of emergencies.
This advisory comes as tensions continue to rise, impacting the safety and security of foreign nationals in the country.
According to the National News Agency, recent airstrikes have resulted in significant destruction, with six buildings completely flattened in the southern suburbs of Beirut.
This destruction underscores the deteriorating security environment and the increasing risks faced by those in Lebanon.
Italy's warning reflects a broader trend of nations reassessing their diplomatic presence and the safety of their citizens in Lebanon as the regional crisis intensifies.
The Italian government is actively monitoring the situation and is prepared to assist its citizens who choose to leave.
