Italian Foreign Minister (FM) Antonio Tajani confirmed that his country rejects Israeli aggressions in the West Bank, referring to the occupation's recent measures to expand the seizure of Palestinian lands.
During a session in the Chamber of Deputies, Tajani stated that Italy opposes any form of annexation of the West Bank to Israel. The Foreign Minister also condemned the attacks launched by settlers in the West Bank, which have intensified recently.
Last Sunday, the Israeli Security Cabinet ("Cabinet") approved measures that make it easier for settlers to purchase Palestinian land in the West Bank and grant the occupation authorities more executive powers over Palestinians.
In a 2024 advisory opinion, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) stated that Israel's occupation of Palestinian territories in the West Bank and the settlements established there are illegal and must be terminated as soon as possible.
