Italian Deputy Prime Minister (PM) and Foreign Minister (FM) Antonio Tajani stressed that what is happening in Gaza is unacceptable, emphasizing that the Italian government’s position is one of clear condemnation.
In statements cited in a press release on Wednesday, the Italian FM rejected accusations from the opposition of “complicit silence” regarding the situation in the Gaza Strip.
He noted that in recent hours, 350 additional tons of flour had been sent, with another 100 tons to be delivered in the coming days in cooperation with the United Nations.
Tajani added, “Italy supports the establishment of a Palestinian state, but it must first be created, and Hamas cannot have a leading role, that should belong to the Palestinian Authority.”
