\The Italian capital, Rome, unveiled today the first public administration "employee" robot, Adriano, during a special ceremony held at the Vibia Sabina and Adriano Temple in Piazza Pietra. Developed with advanced artificial intelligence and sensing technologies, the robot is part of a €137,000 investment project and is scheduled to officially begin operations on March 24.
Adriano will greet citizens and provide them with information in Italian and English about the history of Rome and the services provided by the Chamber of Commerce.
Adriano is a humanoid robot equipped with computer vision sensors and artificial muscles that allow it to interact with its surroundings and with people. Its capabilities also include physical contact: it can manipulate objects and shake hands with visitors, always ensuring maximum safety. Furthermore, Adriano has the ability to express emotions through realistic facial expressions, allowing for more natural communication with users.
The ability to allow remote visits to the Sanctuary of Vibia Sabina and Adriano, through a concierge, will soon be incorporated for those who cannot attend physically.
