The Italian Cultural Institute of Cairo will host a special jazz concert by the acclaimed Italian trio Doctor 3 on June 24 at the Cairo Opera House.

Formed in 1997, Doctor 3 features pianist Danilo Rea, double bassist Enzo Pietropaoli, and drummer Fabrizio Sferra. The trio quickly rose to prominence with their debut album The Tales of Doctor 3, which was named “Best Italian Album of the Year” by Musica Jazz in 1998. The group was also awarded “Best Italian Jazz Group” in 1999, 2001, and 2003.

Known for their innovative approach to jazz improvisation, Doctor 3 blends classic Italian melodies with expressive modern jazz forms, creating a distinct sound that has captivated audiences worldwide. Their performances have spanned festivals and concert halls in Europe, the United States, China, Brazil, and North Africa.

After a five-year hiatus, the group reunited in 2014 with a self-titled album and a renewed artistic vision.
