Israeli Media: Israel and Iran Quietly Preparing for a New War

Hebrew media reports indicate that Israel and Iran are both preparing for the possibility of a new war, citing a recent security assessment that points to heightened military readiness on both sides. Despite this, the assessment stresses that a direct confrontation remains unlikely in the near term, as each side is preoccupied with internal political calculations and shifting regional dynamics.

According to the report, Israel has intensified long-range military exercises designed to simulate strikes deep inside hostile territory, reflecting its focus on maintaining strategic superiority. At the same time, Iran continues to invest heavily in expanding its missile and air-defense systems, with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and allied groups across the region contributing to its broader deterrence posture.

Israeli security agencies are said to be closely monitoring Iran’s footprint in Syria, Lebanon, and Iraq, viewing the region as increasingly volatile and prone to escalation. The assessment warns that while neither Israel nor Iran currently seeks an immediate clash, their ongoing preparations, coupled with the dense network of armed actors in the region, mean the situation could shift rapidly.

The report concludes that the Middle East remains on edge, with both countries maneuvering militarily and politically to shape the strategic environment—keeping the risk of confrontation present, even if not imminent.
