Israeli warplanes carried out intense airstrikes targeting Jabal Al-Rihan in southern Lebanon and areas in the Bekaa Valley in eastern Lebanon, according to reports.

The strikes were described as heavy and ongoing, amid heightened military activity along the Lebanese front. No immediate information was available regarding casualties or the extent of material damage.

The air raids come amid escalating regional tensions, with observers warning of the risk of wider confrontation if hostilities continue to intensify.

Israel and Lebanon have witnessed heightened cross-border tensions in recent months amid ongoing hostilities between Israeli forces and Hezbollah along the Blue Line. Exchanges of fire, including airstrikes, artillery shelling, and rocket launches, have intensified since the outbreak of the war in Gaza, raising fears of a broader regional conflict.

The Bekaa Valley is considered a strategic area for Hezbollah, while southern Lebanon has long been a flashpoint for clashes between the group and Israel. Israeli officials say their military operations aim to deter threats from Lebanese territory, while Lebanese authorities have warned that continued Israeli attacks violate the country’s sovereignty and risk destabilizing the region.

International actors, including the United Nations, have repeatedly called for restraint to prevent the conflict from spilling into a full-scale war.
