Hundreds of opposition Israeli parties took to the streets against the newly formed government led by Benjamin Netanyahu, reports say.

The protesters rose slogans asking to adhere to democracy and warning against compromising it.

The new government won an overwhelming majority (63 deputies) in the Knesset compared to 54 opposition deputies).

The new government was described as the most extremist in the history of the Hebrew state since its founding 74 years ago.

Netanyahu delivered a speech from the Knesset rostrum, before the presentation of the government, in which he said that the most important challenges facing the government are preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and expanding peace between Israel and the Arab world.
