Israeli warplanes carried out their most intense airstrikes on southern Lebanon since the ceasefire, with more than 20 raids reported across several areas in the Sidon district, particularly between the towns of Zrarieh and Ansar.

The powerful explosions were heard across wide areas, reaching the outskirts of Beirut and the Chouf region, reflecting the intensity of the bombardment.

The attacks followed a series of Israeli drone operations in both southern Lebanon and the Beqaa Valley over the past 24 hours, including strikes near the town of Shmustar. The escalation appeared aimed at destroying Hezbollah’s military infrastructure and preventing its reconstruction.

Lebanese Civil Defense teams are preparing to move into the affected areas once the bombardment ends to search for casualties and assess the extent of the damage.

The scale and brightness of the explosions suggested the possible use of new or unconventional munitions, as massive fireballs and flashes illuminated the night sky.
