Dr. Hani Sualiem, Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources, said today, Thursday, that work is ongoing to expand solutions based on nature, especially in the coastal regions.
The ministry adopted a plan to carry out a project known as” Sustaining Dealing with Repercussions of Climate Change on the Northern Coasts and Delta of the Nile.
This project aims at implementing works to protect the lower regions of the coasts of five governorates of Port Said, Damietta, Dakahlia, Kafr El Sheikh, and Bukhara.
The minister added that this project is excellent in implementing pioneer experiments by using low-cost and environment-friendly materials by constructing coastal bridges of reed fences that work as barriers against the sand.
Those barriers collect sand during storms that blow the coasts and diminish the erosion of the coasts.
