The Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources has developed modern technology to use the mobile phone in managing water resources, irrigating lands, and monitoring infringements on the Nile.
The newly introduced systems also monitor withdrawing from the aquifer, measuring rainfall and flood sites, within the framework of the digital transformation plan, which is based on integrating the latest technologies.
The ministry aims to improve performance and ensure the speed of information and data collection with the highest accuracy and speed, through 254 monitoring stations spread along with the irrigation and drainage networks.
Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Aty, Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources said that his ministry has implemented many of the works required to monitor and control water resources from 254 sites with high efficiency of the water needs of the various sectors in the country and to achieve the state's plan for economic and social development.
He added, that work has been done to ensure the continuity and efficiency of the work of the monitoring and preventive maintenance of the network of real-time monitoring and data with mobile communications, which consists of more than 200 field sites.
