Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein affirmed to his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araqchi, Monday, Baghdad's support for any effort that contributes to enhancing regional security and stability.
A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reported by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein received a phone call from Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, during which he briefed him on the latest developments in the Iranian-American negotiations that took place in the Omani capital, Muscat."
According to the statement, Araqchi stated that "the negotiations between the Iranian and American sides went well," noting that "the nuclear project was discussed," stressing that "the second round of talks will be held soon in the Italian capital, Rome, also under the auspices of the Sultanate of Oman." The statement added that Fuad Hussein, for his part, expressed his satisfaction with the ongoing dialogue, appreciating the positive role played by the Sultanate of Oman in facilitating the negotiations.
