Iraq: Two Bombs Hit Khabbaz Oil Field in Kirkuk

This morning, bombs targeted two wells at Khabbaz oil field in Iraq's Kirkuk province, sparking a fire, Reuters reported, according to security sources.

The sources added that no organization has claimed responsibility for the bombing.

According to reports, firefighters are already at the site to control blaze.

Many photos have circulated online, depicting the scene of the incident. The Iraqi news agency Shafaq has stated that the ISIS terror group is behind this attack.

Moreover, oil officials pointed out that the field produces about 25 thousand barrels per day.

It is worth mentioning that, on Monday, Iraqi President Barham Salih said that "Kirkuk should not be an arena for differences and problems," stressing the need to "address the outstanding issues in it."
