Iraq Supports Biden's Ceasefire Initiative for Gaza

Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein has reaffirmed the unwavering support of the Iraqi government and people for the Palestinian cause. He emphasized Baghdad's backing for U.S. President Joe Biden's ceasefire initiative in Gaza.

"We support and endorse the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination," Hussein stated. "We are closely monitoring the war on Gaza and its repercussions on the region, as well as the political stances of other countries. There is significant concern over the continuation of the conflict." He highlighted that Biden's ceasefire initiative is both important and positive for Gaza.

Palestinian Leadership's Perspective

Palestinian Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed Mustafa echoed similar sentiments, stressing that the ongoing aggression in Gaza threatens regional peace.

"We welcome all efforts that support the Palestinian cause and alleviate the suffering of our people," Mustafa said. He praised Iraq as a leading nation in the region, commending its role in supporting Palestine.
