Iraq expressed its sincere condolences and sympathy to the sisterly Kingdom of Morocco, the government and people, following the devastating earthquake that struck a number of Moroccan cities.
In a statment, Iraqi Foreign Ministry offered condolences to the families of victims, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured.
It is worth mentioning that, Moroccan Interior Ministry said on Saturday that the death toll from the earthquake has risen to 1,037.
Another 1,204 people were injured, including 721 in a critical condition, the ministry added in a statment.
A strong earthquake of magnitude 6.8 has struck central Morocco, causing damage in several areas, according to BBC news.
The epicentre was in the High Atlas Mountains, 71km (44 miles) south-west of Marrakesh, at a depth of 18.5km, the US Geological Survey said.
It struck at 23:11 local time, followed by a 4.9 aftershock 19 minutes later.
