Iraq Inaugurates Consulate in Canada

The Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, inaugurated the Iraqi Consulate in the city of Mississauga, Canada.

The opening ceremony was attended by a distinguished group of Canadian and Arab personalities, including the Egyptian-Canadian MP, Sherif Sabawi, and several diplomats.

During his visit, the Iraqi minister began with a series of meetings, including with the Canadian Foreign Minister, Melanie Joly, and the Canadian Minister of Development, Ahmed Hussein.

Discussions during his visit focused on enhancing bilateral relations, investment opportunities, economic growth, and facilitating the entry of Canadian companies into the Iraqi market.

Additionally, discussions involved providing training opportunities to build youth capacities and assist them in entering the workforce.

His talks also encompassed opportunities to expand mutual cooperation between the two countries, counterterrorism efforts, current challenges in the region, and strategies related to addressing climate change.
