At least 16 people, mostly Iranians, were killed in a road accident in Iraq, the Iraqi state news agency said early on Saturday.
Director General of Salah al-Din Governorate Health, Khaled Burhan, said that 13 others were injured in the accident.
The Iraqi News Agency (INA) said, “A horrific traffic accident on the road linking Dujail district and Samarra led to the death of 16 visitors and the injury of 13 in critical cases,” noting that “most of the deceased were from Iran.”
The injured were taken to hospitals in critical condition, the official said.
