Dr. Ramesh Sepehrrad, an expert on Iranian affairs and Chair of the Advisory Board of the Organization of Iranian American Communities, stated that Iran’s ruling system has reached its final stage, asserting that the Iranian Resistance is fully prepared—both politically and operationally—to lead a democratic transition.
In an interview with GB News, Sepehrrad said the growing dominance of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) following recent leadership developments does not signal strength, but rather highlights the internal fragility of the system. She stressed that Iranians no longer focus on who might succeed the current leadership, emphasizing that the public has rejected all forms of authoritarian rule, whether linked to the monarchy or the current system.
She described democratic change in Iran as an ongoing reality, pointing to what she called a nationwide network of “Resistance Units” operating across all 31 provinces. According to Sepehrrad, these units are actively organizing and expanding actions against key centers of power.
Sepehrrad also rejected reliance on foreign military intervention, stating that internal movements led by the Iranian people are the decisive factor in shaping the country’s future. She argued that dismantling the structures of repression and restoring national sovereignty must come through organized domestic efforts.
She added that previous international approaches based on appeasement have failed, prolonging instability. She noted that traditional cultural events such as Nowruz and Chaharshanbe Suri have increasingly taken on political significance, becoming platforms for public expression and resistance.
Highlighting the political roadmap of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), Sepehrrad said the group has proposed a clear transition plan, including the formation of a provisional government for a limited six-month period, followed by free and fair elections based on a democratic framework.
She concluded by stating that the current system is nearing its end, adding that the Iranian Resistance presents what she described as a structured alternative capable of ensuring stability and preventing chaos during a transition. She emphasized that the envisioned future for Iran is a democratic, peaceful, and non-nuclear state.
