Amir Abdollahian, addressing at a press conference after meeting with Finland's Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto in Tehran, mentioned the discussions between Iran and the P4+1 group, which are set to resume in Vienna on Tuesday.
"We're hoping to get close to a final agreement during this phase." The initiatives and behaviour of the three European countries, as well as the United States, will determine our ability to ensure that the negotiations in the coming days result in a favourable deal," he said.
"Parts of our demands in the area of sanctions removal have still to be answered in the latest documents worked up in the Vienna negotiations." The negotiating team in Vienna will focus on a text that is expected to be agreed upon in the coming days, and different parties will demonstrate their commitment to their commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action," he said.
Abdollahian also stated that the country does not view Europe only in terms of the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, and that the country is pursuing a balanced approach that prioritises connections with the rest of Europe.
Amir Abdollahian stated that during his conversations with his Finnish counterpart, the two sides called for an end to the war in Yemen, the lifting of the siege on Yemenis, the holding of a truce, and dialogue between Yemeni factions.
He went on to say that the two top diplomats were also in favour of forming an inclusive government in Afghanistan.
Finland's Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto also reaffirmed his country's support for the JCPOA's revival, saying, "We know Iran has strong collaboration with the IAEA, and we will enhance our cooperation with Iran beyond the JCPOA."
