Iranian Foreign Minister (FM) Abbas Araghchi said that Tehran has never sought to acquire nuclear weapons and is ready to enter into a "fair and just" nuclear agreement that guarantees the legitimate interests of the Iranian people.
Moreover, he added that such an agreement must include "guarantees against the acquisition of nuclear weapons and the effective lifting of sanctions.".
Writing on the "X" social media platform today, Saturday, as reported by the Iranian News Agency (IRNA), Araghchi noted: "The meetings and discussions with the President of Turkey and his Foreign Minister yesterday regarding bilateral relations, as well as regional issues of mutual interest, were useful and constructive."
"Alongside other brotherly neighboring countries, the Republic of Turkey has played a constructive role in achieving peace and stability in the region through its noble efforts; the Islamic Republic of Egypt appreciates and welcomes these efforts," he added.
Araghchi further pointed out that Iran is "always ready for interaction and cooperation with the countries of the region to maintain regional peace and stability and protect it from illegal aggression."
