Iran’s parliament speaker warned on Thursday that U.S. military bases across the Middle East could become legitimate targets if Washington takes any hostile or “adventurous” military action against Iran.
Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said any aggression by the United States would be met with a firm response, stressing that American forces and installations in the region would not be immune from retaliation.
His remarks come amid heightened tensions between Tehran and Washington, following recent statements by U.S. President Donald Trump that Iranian officials have described as provocative and interventionist.
Iranian leaders have repeatedly warned against foreign interference in the country’s internal affairs, saying such actions would violate international law and threaten regional stability.
The United States has not immediately commented on the remarks.
