Iran has ordered the closure of all universities nationwide until further notice following joint military strikes by the United States and Israel, according to state media reports on Saturday.
The official IRNA news agency said the Minister of Science announced the immediate suspension of academic activities across the country as authorities respond to escalating security concerns.
The decision comes hours after US and Israeli forces reportedly targeted senior Iranian leaders in coordinated attacks, marking a significant escalation in regional tensions.
Separately, Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei is expected to deliver a televised address, according to local media, as the country reacts to the latest developments.
The nationwide university shutdown reflects Tehran’s heightened security posture amid fears of further military escalation and potential domestic unrest. Authorities have not specified how long the closures will remain in effect.
