Iran’s air defenses announced that they had shot down an Israeli aircraft over western Iran, according to statements carried by Iranian media, as hostilities between the two sides continue to escalate.
The announcement came amid a new wave of military exchanges across the region, with both sides reporting ongoing aerial attacks and missile launches.
In Israel, explosions were heard across central parts of the country, including the city of Tel Aviv, while air raid sirens sounded again in several northern areas as missile attacks continued.
Israeli media reported that air defense systems intercepted several incoming missiles over Jerusalem, with debris falling in some locations.
According to the reports, a number of missiles managed to bypass air defense systems but landed in open areas without causing immediate casualties.
The latest developments come as tensions between Israel and Iran intensify, raising concerns about the potential for broader regional escalation.
