Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani has announced that his country succeeded in reducing burden of the foreign debt by more than 25% to become $9.5 billion this year. This amount is compared to $12.4 billion before two years.

“Fars” an Iranian news agency quoted Rouhani as saying that the foreign debt had been slashed by 25% despite American administration's pressures on Iran.

He assured that his government did not ask foreign aid but sticks to an austere plan to diminish public expenditure and repay foreign debt.

Rouhani addressed a crowd at Sherwan city, in the north eastern part of Iran, and affirmed that unemployment rate reduced to 10.8 % of people at the age of work between 15-60 years. This rate is compared to 12.1% in the previous year.

The Iranian president pointed out that the USA failed to undermine his country at any level.

He went on saying that the strongest economic and military power in the world has sought since 14 months to impose the harshest sanctions on the Iranian people who stands solid.

"If any other people face such aggressive measurements it may collapse under those sanctions," he said.
