Iran has reaffirmed that it will continue developing its peaceful nuclear program, stressing that its activities remain strictly civilian and fully consistent with international law.

An Iranian diplomat said the country’s nuclear efforts are grounded in religious, ethical, and national security principles, underlining that Tehran does not pursue nuclear weapons and remains committed to non-proliferation obligations. Iran, he noted, views nuclear energy as a legitimate right for peaceful purposes such as electricity generation, scientific research, and medical applications.

The remarks come as Iran faces renewed international scrutiny over its nuclear activities amid wider regional tensions and stalled diplomatic tracks. Iranian officials maintain that their nuclear policy is transparent in intent and aligned with the framework governing civilian nuclear programs worldwide.

Tehran has repeatedly rejected accusations that its nuclear work has military dimensions, insisting that its doctrine explicitly rules out the production or use of nuclear weapons. Officials argue that continued pressure and sanctions have not altered Iran’s strategic position and that the country will proceed with technological development within the bounds of international agreements.

Iranian authorities also emphasize that nuclear technology plays a growing role in domestic development, including healthcare, agriculture, and energy security, especially as the country seeks to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and meet long-term economic needs.

Despite diplomatic tensions with Western powers, Iran says it remains open to dialogue that respects its sovereign rights and acknowledges its stated commitment to a peaceful nuclear path.
