Iranian opposition leader Maryam Rajavi has declared that the popular resistance movement inside Iran has become stronger than the country’s powerful security apparatus, including the Revolutionary Guards, as nationwide protests continue to challenge the ruling system.
Rajavi, who heads the National Council of Resistance of Iran, said the ongoing protests have deeply shaken the foundations of the ruling establishment. She argued that the scale and persistence of the unrest demonstrate that the Iranian regime is facing an unprecedented challenge from within.
According to Rajavi, organized resistance units have managed to seize control of parts of several cities during recent demonstrations, calling these actions a practical rehearsal for what she described as the eventual liberation of the entire country. She said the uprising has proven that popular determination outweighs the power of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and dozens of other security and military bodies loyal to the state.
She acknowledged the heavy cost paid by protesters, particularly young Iranians who have lost their lives during clashes with security forces. Rajavi said their sacrifices reflect legitimate public demands for a life rooted in human dignity, freedom, and justice.
The opposition leader outlined a vision for Iran centered on the establishment of a democratic republic, the separation of religion and state, and full gender equality. She stressed that these principles represent the core aspirations of the Iranian people rather than the agenda of any single political group.
Rajavi also urged the international community to take concrete action, calling on governments and global institutions to formally recognize the struggle of the Iranian people and the role of young protesters seeking to end what she described as a religious dictatorship.
