During a phone call between the foreign ministers of Iran and Iraq, they discussed ways to put into practice the security agreements signed between their countries, particularly in countering anti-Iranian terrorist groups located in the Iraqi Kurdistan region.
Hossein Amirabdollahian, Iran's Foreign Minister, also discussed the current state of bilateral relations with his Iraqi counterpart, Fuad Hussein. Both ministers emphasized the importance of following up on the implementation of the security agreement.
They also talked about promoting the gas pipeline that runs from Iran to Iraq and regional cooperation, among other topics.
Amirabdollahian expressed gratitude to Iraq for facilitating banking and monetary transactions related to Hajj pilgrims through Iran's financial credits and called for closer banking cooperation between the two countries.
