Iran’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Sattar Hashemi, met India’s Minister of Electronics and Information Technology, Jitin Prasada, to discuss closer collaboration in IT, AI, cyberspace governance and the digital economy.
During the meeting, both sides underlined the strategic importance of strengthening technological ties amid rapid global digital transformation.

Pointing to Iran’s scientific base and skilled workforce, the minister said the country has made significant advances in modern technologies and is ready to broaden knowledge exchange, particularly in countering cyber threats, addressing emerging malware and reinforcing financial infrastructure security.
Referring to India’s role within BRICS, Hashemi described the group as an important platform for promoting a digital order grounded in respect for national sovereignty and the interests of developing economies.
For his part, Prasada emphasised the importance of expanding joint projects in IT and AI, including the possible establishment of shared innovation centres aimed at accelerating technological development, strengthening digital infrastructure and improving data security standards in both countries.
