International Court of Justice sounds alarm

The ruling of the International Court of Justice to reject Israel’s request to cancel the case against it and to acknowledge the rights of the Palestinians raises alarm. It is not only a victory for truth, legitimacy and law, but it is a victory for humanity in the face of cruelty, invasion and bias of the international community. Some had hoped for a stronger decision with an immediate ceasefire, condemnation of Israel and the payment of compensation. But the decision itself is a great victory.

This is the first time that Israel has been convicted or the court has agreed to look into its racist crimes against the Palestinian people, including killing innocents, slaughtering children and women, starvation, and demolishing homes with their residents. I strongly appreciate the State of South Africa for supporting the truth and its boldness in confronting falsehood steadfastly with strong evidence and a professional team, and I praise the court that was able, at least with courage, to raise the alarm and say that Israel is committing an inhumane act by killing civilians as it sees that the danger is worsening amid the suffering in the Gaza Strip. It believes that the conditions are in place to impose temporary measures. 

But what is the mechanism for implementing the decision? We need political will, the international community should maintain pressure so that the US does not issue a veto in the Security Council. the resolution, which calls on Israel to take all measures to prevent genocide in the Gaza Strip, take immediate measures to prevent destruction, must be implemented. 

A report must be submitted to the court regarding all temporary measures imposed within one month. The Israeli Forces must takes measures to improve the humanitarian situation and immediately ensure that its army does not commit violations.

For more than 100 days, the people of Palestine have been living through a hideous human tragedy, but the court was able to break the barrier and condemn Israel. 

If we continue this confrontation, the Palestinian people may get their rights, or at least the machine of evil could stop. 

Egypt's decisive position is admired by the whole world, and President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi's firm position represented in refusing to displace the people of Gaza and his adherence to the two-state solution is a strong and courageous position.

The International Court sounded its warning sirens with this ruling to the whole world so that the world would take a position on the brutality, and after the ruling there must be great international pressure. Algeria has called for an emergency Arab summit and the Security Council will meet within days.
