An injured Palestinian child was evacuated from Gaza to Egypt for medical treatment on Thursday, following instructions from Egypt's President Abdel Fatah Al-Sisi.

The child was at risk of leg amputation due to Israeli shelling and had been stuck at the Rafah Border Crossing.

President El-Sisi also directed the relevant authorities to quickly coordinate the transfer of newborn babies from the Gaza Strip to receive medical attention in Egypt.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization (WHO) said that it is working with Egypt in planning the medical evacuation of patients and wounded from the Gaza Strip to receive treatment and that it will continue to support its efforts in this field.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs had announced earlier that Egypt is ready to help 7,000 dual nationals with 60 different nationalities leave Gaza Strip through Egyptian airports, by allowing them entry through Rafah Crossing.
