The Egyptian Cabinet Information and Decision Support Center published "Info Graphic” on Friday; reviewing the Global Knowledge Index 2020 issued by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation.
Egypt moved up in the index, ranking 72nd in 2020, compared to 82nd last year out of 138 countries.
Egypt advanced in all the sectoral indices; moving up 23 ranks in the (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) sectoral index, becoming the 80th in 2020 compared to the 103rd in 2019, and moving up 11 ranks in (Pre- University Education) sectoral index, taking the 83rd rank in 2020 compared to 94th in 2019.
Global Knowledge Index - issued in December - pinpointed Egypt's areas of strength, i.e., an increase in the students enrolled in the globally- ranked universities, a decline in the percentage of Out-of- school children, an increase in the percentage of student enrolled in Technical Vocational Education and Training and judicial independence.
GKI is issued annually to measure the knowledge performance of 138 countries around the globe using 199 sub-indices. They include 7 main sectoral indices.
