Hence, The Infectious Diseases Act was issued to legally enable the government to take action against the spread of infectious diseases. the amendments of this act were approved by the former House of Representatives headed by Dr. Ali Abdel-Al, setting a penalty against those who are disrupting the burial of coronavirus dead patients.
The act aims to enable health authorities to face the risk of the spread of some diseases, which represent a serious threat to public health.
Article 26 stipulated that those who hinder, disrupt, or prevent the burial of the dead shall be punished by imprisonment and a fine ranging from five thousand pounds to ten thousand pounds.
