Egypt’s Grand Mufti and President of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, Dr. Nazir Ayyad, met with the Indian Ambassador to Cairo, Mr. Suresh K. Reddy, to explore ways of enhancing religious cooperation and combating extremism.
Dr. Ayyad affirmed Dar al-Ifta’s commitment to sharing its expertise, correcting misconceptions, and training religious leaders.
Ambassador Reddy praised Egypt’s leading religious role and proposed joint efforts in developing training programs, preserving Islamic manuscripts, and translating them.
He also extended an official invitation to the Grand Mufti to visit India, aiming to strengthen religious and cultural ties between the two nations.
