The Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) revealed that Egypt has witnessed a significant increase in its exports to international blocs in 2021.
According to a statement released by IDSC on Thursday, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), has pointed out a significant increase in Egypt's exports to several international blocs, of which Egypt is either a member or not.
The value of Egypt's exports to international blocs that include it reached $35 bn in 2021, an increase of 22%, compared to $38 bn worth of imports.
The statement noted that Egypt's exports to the Arab Free Trade Area ranked first, with a value of $11 bn in 2021, an increase of 6%. It is followed by ESCWA with a total of $8 bn, an increase of 3.5%.
Meanwhile, COMESA ranked last with a total of $3 bn, an increase of 31%.
It's worth mentioning that the value of Egypt's exports to international blocs that do not include it reached $20 bn in 2021, an increase of 77%, compared to $38 bn worth of imports.
Egypt's exports to the European Union (EU) ranked first, with a value of $15 bn in 2021, an increase of 86%. It is followed by NAFTA with a total of $3 bn, an increase of 44%.
