Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto has labeled the European Union's attempts to impose new sanctions on Russia as "futile," asserting that previous sanctions have already failed.
According to Russia's TASS news agency, Szijjarto remarked, "I believe that efforts to impose more sanctions simply trivialize an already failed sanctions policy; they clearly want to put together a demonstrative package."
Szijjarto emphasized that it's time for realization that the sanctions policy has completely failed and the European Union should not appear overly trivial.
After an informal meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels, the Hungarian Foreign Minister mentioned that the European Commission is now preparing the thirteenth package of sanctions against Russia, which is challenging because restrictions have already touched all sectors.
