Heatwave Hits Egypt on Wednesday

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) predicts that the country will witness a rise in the temperature, starting Wednesday.

The heatwave will hit the country from Wednesday, May 31, until Saturday, June 3.

Meteorologist also predicts that the temperature will rise from 3: 5 degrees. It is also foreseen that scorching weather will prevail across the country during the daytime hours.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), heat waves is considered one of the most dangerous natural hazards for human beings. 

Future projections indicate that extended and extreme heat waves will occur more frequently in the upcoming years. Heat waves can have various societal impacts by heavily burdening health care systems as well as energy and water sources. 

Globally, the number of people exposed to heat waves has been exponentially increasing over the last few decades, thus increasing heat-related health complications and deaths.
