Hawass Rewarded Honorary Doctorate from RSUH

Renowned Egyptologist Dr. Zahi Hawass was rewarded an honorary doctorate degree from the Russian State University for Humanities (RSUH) in a prestigious celebration.

The university highlighted that Hawass was rewarded as he is one of the most productive Egyptologist, in addition to his efforts in restoring antiquities, and getting several smuggled, and stolen Egyptian artefacts back home. It added that the world-famed figure contributed in establishing the Grand Egyptian Museum, and the Museum of National Civilization.

Moreover, the President of the university handed Hawass the degree's certificate documented in English, and Russian.

The celebration was attended by Ehab Nasr, the Egyptian ambassador to Russia, and Dr. Mohamed El Sargani, the Egyptian cultural advisor.

It is worthy to mention that RSUH is one of the oldest 20 universities in the world, and it carried nine museums, including a museum dedicated to Egyptian antiquities.

After the celebration, Hawass lectured about the latest archeological discoveries in Egypt.
