Halsey to Make Her Acting Debut in TV Series "The Players Table"

American singer-songwriter Halsey is set to make her acting debut in "The Player’s Table", a TV series based on Jessica Goodman’s bestselling debut novel "They Wish They Were Us".

Halsey will also serve as a producer on the production, which will be written and directed by Annabelle Attanasio.

She shared the news via Instagram, along with several photos of her with Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney.

The musician revealed that she booked the lead role in The Player's Table, the TV adaptation of Jessica Goodman's YA murder mystery, "They Wish They Were Us" alongside Sweeney.

This is not the first time they have shared a screen together. They collaborated on the music video for her song "Graveyard", which went double platinum and earned a VMA-nomination.

The Player's Table is set at a Long Island prep school where a secret society rules the school.

It centers around, Jill Newman, (Sweeney) a high school senior who tries to uncover the truth behind her best friend Shaila's death, who was murdered three years ago, and the role she and the rest of the secret society might have played in it.

Halsey is set to play Rachel Calloway, an emotionally troubled woman who sparks Newman's interest in uncovering what really happened to Shaila.

The Players Table began development earlier this summer and has yet to be picked up by a network or streaming service.

Last year, Halsey, born Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, played a small part in the remake of "A Star Is Born",  starring Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga.

It is a 2018 American romantic musical drama movie was written by Cooper, Eric Roth, and Will Fetters. It was also produced and directed by Cooper in his directorial debut.

The movie revolves around an aging musician Jackson Maine (Cooper) as he deals with alcoholism and dwindling fame, and rising star Ally (Gaga).

It received numerous accolades, including eight nominations at the 91st Academy Awards, among them Best Picture, Best Actor (Cooper), Best Actress (Gaga), and Best Supporting Actor (Elliott). The movie earned Best Original Song for Gaga's "Shallow".
