The Germany University in Cairo (GUC) has topped Germany's overseas universities list, according to Dr. Ashraf Mansour, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees.

In his address at a special event held to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the GUC branch in Berlin that coincided with the 20th anniversary of the establishment of GUC, Mansour cited the Germany University in Cairo as the highest-ranked international German university and integrated transnational educational institution outside the European country's territory today.

"GUC is one of the massive finest German Universities Abroad," the head of the University’s Board of Trustees said.

In the same connection, he commended the GUC's educational approaches and its sincere efforts during the past 20 years in enhancing the quality of its graduates as well as its vital role in promoting further cooperation and coordination between the Egyptians and their counterparts in Germany.

The university also gained more recognition from international and regional educational organizations, thanks to its curricula and practical experience, he noted.

On his part, Dr. Kai Sicks, Secretary-General of the DAAD, said that his institution has been supporting the GUC project and a range of education projects in many countries across the world, stressing that these projects that promote cultural exchange show how helpful and mutually reinforcing such cooperation can be.

Earlier, Egypt’s Ambassador to Germany H.E. Khaled Galal praised the role of the Germany University (GUC) Branch in Berlin in improving the educational quality of its graduates and encouraging the Egyptian and German youths to engage positively for the benefit of the two countries.

It's worth mentioning that it has been 10 years since the founding of the GUC branch in Berlin under the auspices of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), and the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
