Egypt's Grand Mufti Dr. Shawki Allam visited one of the most prestigious universities in the world, during his trip to England at the invitation of the UK Parliament, to deliver a speech before the British Houses of Commons and Lords, the members of the Egyptian Embassy in London and delegations from the British Ministry of the Interior welcomed him. The British authorities secured his movements in the British capital.

Dr. Shawki Allam spoke before the House of Commons about the messages of the new republic, his call to unify the word of humanity, and the Egyptian Document for Interfaith Dialogue. He visited the oldest English mosques, and gave advices to Muslims in Britain, the most important of which was the message of brotherhood and equality and granting women their full rights. He spoke about women's rights from the heart of the oldest mosques in the Kingdom, the Jahan Shah Mosque. In his speech in front of the students of the prestigious Oxford University, he emphasized the moderation and tolerance of the Islamic religion, and the audience, students, professors and researchers were impressed by his speech that touched their hearts.

I liked the Mufti’s speech and his deep and influential talks. We are impressed by an Azharite mentality that came to Britain with an open dialogue, and visited an international university that embraces all ideas. The president of the Oxford University Students’ Union, Michael Akolade, said that Dr. Allam's visit from an important country like Egypt to the university means a lot.. It is an important matter because it helps us to know different ideas and ways of thinking.. especially since Dr. Allam plays an important role in the Islamic world as the Mufti of Egypt. Dr. Allam’s visit to Oxford is a great opportunity to learn about the Islamic religion and give advices that help make students’ lives happier. The visit emphasized many great meanings about the tolerance of Islam and that it is a religion of love and peace, especially his speech at Oxford University, the oldest of Britain's seven ancient universities, and one of the most important and oldest universities in the world and the fourth best university worldwide.

Oxford University is ranked fourth in the Times Higher Education Rankings.. Many thanks to prominent  journalist Hamdi Rizk for the special coverage he made for the visit and for all his beautiful, intelligent interviews with the Mufti, through his program Nazra at the Sada El Balad TV channel, clear interviews on important topics. I express my appreciation to him and to Grand  Mufti Dr. Shawki Allam.

I hope that there will be more visits by the Mufti and the clerics  to the Western world to explain the tolerance of the Islamic religion and the reality of this religion.
