Several media outlets posted news concerning the circulation of meat injected with internationally banned hormones.

The Cabinet's media center communicated with the National Authority for Food Safety, which denied these reports, stressing that there is no validity in the circulation of meat injected with internationally banned hormones.

It stressed that all meat traded in the markets, whether local or imported, is safe and free of any internationally prohibited hormones, and is subject to examination and control by the concerned regulatory authorities, by drawing random samples from it and analyzing them in accredited laboratories to ensure their safety.

It referred to launching intensive inspection and control campaigns on all markets, slaughterhouses, and places where meat is displayed and sold in various governorates, to ensure its safety and suitability for human consumption.

The government also directed slaughtering only inside approved slaughterhouses, while taking all necessary legal measures against violators.

The media center appeal to all media outlets and social media users to be accurate and objective in disseminating news.
