Google announced that it will use recycled plastic in Chromecast devices and used plastic bottles to create the fabric on Google Homes and cases .
By 2022, 100 % of its products ''Made by Google'' which will include recycled materials and maximize recycled content whenever possible. By 2020, 100 % of all shipments going to or from customers will be carbon neutral.
The portfolio currently includes hardware like Pixel phones, Pixelbooks, Google Home speakers, Nest, and accessories like phone cases and charging stands.

Google project will provide one million energy-saving Nest thermostats to families in need by 2023, and many Nest products are already made with post-consumer recycled plastic.
On other hand, the search giant already has a recycling program in place that provides a shipping label for users to send their old or unwanted Google products back to the company, although it is currently restricted to the US only.
Noteworthy, this move follow after Apple’s green initiative to use recycled materials in its products, with the company going so far as to make an in-house robot that disassembles old hardware for parts. Also, Samsung announced a similar pledge, promising to use sustainable materials in its product packaging.
Later, Google announced that allowed other search engines to compete in being the default engine for new Android devices in Europe, Reuters reported.
According to Google’s statement published in a blog post, Google’s users would be able to pick out a default search engine from four options while setting up a new Android Operating System-based tablet or Smartphone.
